We're sad to report that our lobby cat, Abby, passed away today. She was one of our first cats at the shelter and was adopted in 2010. She was found last year, weighing only 3lbs. She had a disorder that didn't let her digest food properly and with treatment, we were able to get her weight up to 6.4lbs! She had a grumpy face, but she was so loving! We lovingly referred to her as our old lady cat, as she was almost 15 years old. She loved her treats and would launch herself into your hand for a good head scratch. Sadly, she took a turn for the worst yesterday and we made the difficult decision to let her go. Our hearts are broken.

My heart is broken. I know she was well cared for back at The Cattery. I will always remember seeing her curled up in the K & H bed Princess Elsa cat sent from Chewy a few weeks on your live feed. Run free across the Rainbow 🌈 Bridge. The others who went before you are waiting to play.

Thank you for taking care of sweet Abby. I'm sad someone adopted her and then let her go, but so glad she found her way back to you so she could be loved and cared for.

Wow....15 years is a great long life. And to know she was adopted 11 years ago and loved...what a great tribute to the work you do. And lastly...to be able to have medical care to treat an illness or assist with a pain free departure over the rainbow bridge...another great blessing. She was a very blessed kitty.

I am so sorry to hear about Abby. She was a lucky girl to have you near the beginning and especially at the end of her long life. Her microchip must have helped her find her way back into your care. You and everyone at the Cattery change and save lives.
