Most people, unless you are in the sheltering world or know someone that is, don't understand the cat and dog overpopulation problem that is rampant in many parts of the United States. Especially in the South. Especially in South Texas. That means space in shelters is limited and most shelters stay at capacity. If you find a cat or dog, be prepared to take care of that animal until you find him/her a home, in case placement in an animal shelter isn't available. Also, don't be mean to us! :-) We're doing the best we can to solve a problem that we didn't create! We are so excited that Pepper, Emily, Rose, Blazer, Brian, Ponzu, Johnny, Nick, Jimmy, Lollipop, BJ, Jiff & Junior, Josette, Strudel, Rosemary, Mittens & Socks, and ChaCha found their forever homes last week! Recently a video we posted about spaying or neutering your pets before 6 months went viral. There were many arguments, many to do with people should trust us over their Vet. It's not our opinion, it's fact from Veterinarians. There are spay/neuter clinics, shelters and private practice Veterinarians doing pediatric spays/neuters around the country. Watch more for the nitty gritty! We are so excited that Big Boy, Sundae, Finley, Gumball, Darwin, Chico, Nirvana, Santiago, Techno, Pretzel, Sydney, Shortcake, Shannon, Holmes & Watson, AJ, Ginger, Kevin, Tom Tom, and Atari found their forever homes last week!! It never fails. In every video of Dapper Dan and Princess Cecily, someone inevitably asks if they have a wheelchair. In this episode we talk about why they don't have a wheelchair. (Though Dan does have what we call a hoverboard, that is really cool!) What is Kitten Season? Those that are in the 'industry' don't always understand what it is, when it is and the impact it makes. There can be multiple Kitten Seasons each year, but the main one is in the Spring and it has to do with the Birds and the Bees. All the animals are mating and new babies are born in the spring. That means an influx of kittens into shelters in late Spring, early Summer. An overwhelming influx. We also talk about what to do if you find some freshly born kittens! We are so excited that Torta, Carmen, Marcel, Maribel, Marlin, Marty, Frances, Leon, Lenny, May, Ozzie, Harley, and Buckaroo found their forever homes last week! |
